She Never Slept Celebrates 50 Years of The Twilight Zone
Hello Ghouls and Boils,
As you may know, my love for horror, strange tales, and science fiction originated at the double feature drive-ins I went to as a child. But, as a young lady, it was The Twilight Zone that got me addicted for life. I can’t recall what television station was doing it (maybe channel 11, the station that played Chiller Theater), but when I was 12 there was a marathon of original Twilight Zone episodes. I remember being glued to the television, ignoring sleep and food (except for the occasional popcorn nibble). I sat there for two days straight, in my jammies and giant blue fuzzy robe, mesmerized… in awe…. this (then) nearly 30 year old television show was revolutionary. It totally blew my little mind!
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the original Twilight Zone series. Do you know what? It still blows my mind. So – in order to honor a show that has given so much to my life and fed my truly bizarre imagination for over two decades now – I have decided to do a series of articles here on She Never Slept. Every Monday, for the rest of the year, I will talk about a TZ episode I love. I invite you all to come and comment and discuss! You can also look forward to an article or two from She Never Slept’s Minions! There may even be a special guest article…. one can never tell what might happen once we dip into the Zone. Are you excited? I know I am. My first article will be posted this Monday. I will be discussing “One for the Angels”. Stay tuned!
Abstrusely,
Sarah L. Gerhardt
