Copper Age – a website launch!!!!

Hello Ghouls and Boils,

I have some delicious news to share tonight my fiends. Tomorrow, Copper Age, a new site from the minds of artist Tom Brown (cover artist for Blood Will Have Its Season) and writer Bryn Colvin is premiering and I couldn’t be more excited. I have to admit, typically webcomics are not my thing. I don’t really like electronic books either. I would much rather hold a book in my hand. I love the feel, the smell… I suppose I am old fashioned that way. When Tom told me about this new project I was skeptical, especially given my predisposition. Then I checked out The Hopeless Vendetta and It Is A Circle. I was convinced that this would be a new experience all together. I was charmed by the imagery and storytelling – even though there is but a taste available right now. So I wait with bated breath and hope you will be there waiting with me.

You can keep up with what’s going on by checking Copper Age’s Blog or signing up for their weekly newsletter – Copper Age Yahoogroup. If you tweet you can also follow them on twitter: @Bryn_Colvin and @gothicmangaka – and keep #copperage in your favorite searches!

If you like what you see as well, and want to help spread the word… here is what you can do:

To add as html code (eg on myspace) it’s:
<a href=”http://www.itisiacrcle.com”>Copper Age webcomic</a >

To post as a banner link to the website, please use the following –
<a href=”http://www.itisacircle.com“><img src=”http://i595.photobucket.com/albums/tt32/Bryn_Colvin/CopperAgebanner.jpg“></a>

Please note, they are offering to send a Copper Age postcard to everyone who helps spread the word and puts their banner on a webpage – any web page will do! Myspace, front pages of yahoo groups, homepages. If you put a banner up, please email Bryn with the url, and your postal address. If you’re in the first twenty to do so, Bryn will post yours next Monday. Latecomers will have to wait for her to order the next batch!

Stay tuned Boils and Ghouls… SNS will review the site in the near future. And now a blurb from the brains behind Copper Age. Enjoy my fiends!

The Blind Fisherman Cover

Copper Age is a creative enterprise focused on comics but also producing art, stories, music, video, and pretty much anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. The Copper Age, historically speaking, came before the Iron Age we now live in. Copper is not as good a metal for killing people as iron, but you can make nice body decorations out of it. So that’s Copper Age – Awen touched, tree hugging, in love with folklore and mythology, and far too fond of tentacles to be healthy.

It Is A Circle launches with The Blind Fisherman – a tale which started life as a series of pictures and later had words attached to it. It’s a small story arc, and not quite traditional comic form. There are sea monsters, demented occultists, and other strangeness. After this comes Personal Demons – which is more like a conventional comic and begins with the witch Annamarie Nightshade visiting a gothic house, and finding something entirely unexpected.
