Adam Niswander is the author of seven mythos novels written in honor of H.P. Lovecraft and other writers who have contributed to the cannon. Through his participation in numerous literary conventions over the years, he has met and befriended much of the Mythos writing community.Mark Boniece has served as Chairman of nine local conventions in Phoenix, including CopperCon and LepreCon (science fiction), HexaCon (gaming) and DarkCon (fantasy/media). He has also assisted with numerous other conventions, both big and small. As such, he is very familiar with the arcane art of conventioneering.
Mark has agreed to serve as MythosCon Chairman while Adam, instrumental in providing the needed subject matter knowledge and financial backing, has agreed to serve in the less active position of Elder God. Adam and Mark have been friends for over thirty years.
After the Providence, Rhode Island, convention Necronomicon closed for business, those who loved and celebrated H. P. Lovecraft’s writings and the writings of those who followed in his footsteps, found themselves bereft of a place to go. (The Florida Necronomicon is not Lovecraft oriented).
Adam and Mark felt this was a bad thing. So they decided to combine their talents and organize their own celebration — this time out in Phoenix, Arizona in 2011. Thus, MythosCon was born.
Can the two crazy guys in the desert pull it off? If the “dry” heat hasn’t gotten to them by 2011, they will — with help from a number of their friends.
