The Not-So-Savvy Reader
Hello Ghouls and Boils,
As some of you may recall, this month I did a guest blog stint with Savvy Reader’s Blog. A blog for romance novels is certainly out of our element at She Never Slept… but to quote my friend Terry (then Editor of the blog) “a reader is a reader”. I thought it would be fun to introduce a new audience to our world. Sadly, the Owner of Savvy Readers website disagreed with some statements (made in jest) by one of the authors who I interviewed. She removed his interview and pulled the entire blog. I read these comments and completely disagree with her assessment. I find it reactionary and frankly a little appalling. To do such a thing – in my mind – is borderline censorship. So, in protest, I am removing all of my content from Savvy Reader’s.
People with blogs who do reviews and people with small review sites are journalists. We may be a bit “rogue”, but we do have a responsibility to those we review and interview. On that subject, I will be reposting all of the interviews and the article from my week of guest blogging here on She Never Slept. I appreciate the time given by each Author who contributed and I see no reason for their efforts to be in vain. I am backdating the entries so they have the original publish date. You will find all of the links collected below. If you haven’t read the interviews yet… please do, they really are quite interesting. Enjoy, my fiends!
I will leave you with this final thought: “Censorship in any form is the enemy of creativity, since it cuts off the life blood of creativity: ideas.” — Allan Jenkins
